Windows XP. New Found Hardware Wizard goes into a loop when adding plug&play devices. Do I have to reload XP?
My USB ports seem to have stopped working except for the Mouse which is fine. Plug and play devices that work fine on other laptops just cause my New Hardware Found Wizard to go into a loop. i.e. it just flashes on the screen and does not respond to any commands. Do I have to reload the XP operating sytem to fix ? Laptop is Fujitsu Siemens Amilpro.
I have encountered this before on my own laptop, the best thing to do is reinstall windows, however you can try this:
uninstall the drivers for the usb devise
uninstall the drivers for the usb port
restart the computer
reinstall the driver for the actual usb port
restart the computer
and then install the usb device again
Its a long shot but it may work
