Case Slant
I work in the produce section of our local grocery store, I’m having a serious problem with gnats.
is there anything that i can do to get rid of them without harming my produce. I can’t put a bowl of water down, cause our cases are slanted. Need help badly!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey Wendy, the gnats you have are probably fungus gnats. They love ripening and over ripe fruits and vegetables and damp areas, so your display cases are perfect for them. Your best control measures without using pesticides are preventative. Be sure that no over ripe vegetables or fruit are left out. Clean, clean , clean. Empty any refrigeration condensation pans, and if possible drain condensation out of area or directly to a sewer drain. Flush all drains daily. Add chlorine bleach to drains after flushing. Just a tablespoon or two will do. Good Luck and again, clean, clean, clean!
